Obstetrics and Gynecology

Obstetrics:

  • Care during pregnancy from beginning to birth.

  • Ultrasound at initial visit to determine estimated due date.

  • Formal (Level II ultrasound) performed by an ultrasonographer at 20 weeks gestation to evaluate the fetal anatomy and verify estimated due date.

  • Amniocentesis offered, if needed, throughout pregnancy to evaluate various conditions, including chorioamnionitis and fetal lung maturity.

  • Cesarean Sections

  • Vaginal Deliveries (forceps and vacuum deliveries performed only if necessary)

  • Physical Therapy for painful conditions exacerbated by pregnancy.

 

Gynecology:

  • Treatment of Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding.

    • Conservative medical treatment.

    • Surgical treatment

  • Treatment of Cervical Pre-Cancers and Abnormal Pap Smears.

  • Treatment of Menopausal Symptoms.

    • Hormonal

    • Non-hormonal

  • Routine Annual Examinations to Evaluate Overall Healthcare Maintenance.

  • IUD Placement.

  • Birth Control Management


 

Definitions:

 
Chorioamnionitis:
Infection of the amniotic fluid.
 
 
Hydrothermal ablation:
Burning of the lining of the uterus.
 
 
Hysterectomy:
Removal of the uterus.
 
 
Colposcopy:
Evaluation of the cervix for pre-cancer.
 
 
LEEP procedures:
Removal of abnormal cells on the cervix.
 
 
Cryotherapy:
Freezing of abnormal cells on the cervix.
